About Read Out and Read
Reach Out and Read (ROR) is a national nonprofit organization that promotes early literacy by providing new books to children, ages 6 months to 5 years old, and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud. Doctors and nurses, who provide the books to parents during regular pediatric visits, know that growing up healthy means growing up with books. The ROR program provides the tools to help promote childrens' developmental skills and later school success. Reach Out and Read’s 4,500 Programs nationwide give out more than 6 million books each year to th e 3.8 million children they serve. With your help and support, they can put even more books into the hands and homes of children in need!
